New Delhi: India thrashed Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the second and the last Test of the two-match series on Tuesday, consolidating their lead in the World Test Championship (WTC) points table.
Following their victory in the rain-affected Kanpur Test, India retained their top spot in the points table with a Percentage of Points (PCT) of 74.24, followed by Australia (62.50), Sri Lanka (55.56), and England (42.19).
India need 3 more wins
Rohit Sharma-led team India has won 11 matches in the current cycle. To qualify for their third consecutive World Test Championship (WTC) final, India requires three more wins from the remaining eight Tests.

Now, India will face New Zealand in a three-match home series with the first Test slated to begin from October 16 before flying to Australia later this year to play five-match Test series.
Chasing a small target of 95 runs, opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 51 runs as the hosts defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the rain-hit second Test to make a clean sweep of the two-Test series.
Earlier in the day, India bowled out Bangladesh for 146 runs on the final day, with pacers Jasprit Bumrah and spinners R Ashwin and R Jadeja claiming three wickets each in Bangladesh's second innings.

Bangladesh were bowled out for 233 in their first innings before India responded a quick-fire 285/9 and declared their first innings.
Ashwin was named the player of the series for his terrific all-round performance while Jaiswal adjourned player of the match.
