Hyderabad: At least six workers were feared trapped after a portion of an under-construction tunnel collapsed in Telangana.


According to Dynamite News correspondet, the accident occurred after the roof collapsed in the under-construction stretch of the Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) in Nagarkurnool district.

Police said the construction company's team has gone inside for assessment and has confirmed that the workers are trapped. Further details are awaited. 


Telangana minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the accident occurred due to slippage of a concrete segment covering the 14th kilometre inlet of the tunnel.
