New Delhi: Gautam Buddh Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma has sounded the alarm in Parliament over two critical infrastructure projects stuck in limbo—the Greater Noida West Metro extension and the much-awaited Jewar Airport. With over 8 lakh residents, including students and professionals, grappling with poor connectivity, the MP’s fiery speech in the Lok Sabha has reignited public anger over bureaucratic delays.

Metro Project: 8-Year Wait, Zero Progress

In a hard-hitting address, Dr. Sharma revealed that the Greater Noida West Metro project, promised during the area’s development, has been pending for eight years despite escalating public demand. "When Greater Noida West was established, authorities assured Metro connectivity. Yet, files are gathering dust while residents suffer," he said.

UP Government has already released its share of funds to the Urban Development Ministry. But the project file has been stuck in ministry offices for six months without clearance.

Jewar Airport: Another Delayed Game-Changer

The MP also pushed for the early inauguration of Jewar Airport, calling Noida and Greater Noida UP’s "global show-window." "These hubs attract international investment. Delaying the airport hurts economic growth," he argued. The airport’s launch is expected to boost tourism, jobs, and regional development.
