Lucknow / Bareilly: Till now the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly was Selvakumari J. Three days ago, the government transferred her as the Divisional Commissioner of Meerut. In her place, Dr. Sarika Mohan, Director, ICDS, was shifted as Bareilly Divisional Commissioner. But she didn't assume the charge.

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, consequently on Sunday, the government appointed Sanyukta Samaddar as the Divisional Commissioner of Bareilly. Samaddar is the wife of IAS Ravindra. Both husband and wife are IAS of 1999 batch. Ravindra has also worked as the private secretary of Union Minister Mahesh Sharma.

These days many IAS officers are taking voluntary retirement (VRS) in Uttar Pradesh. About half a dozen IAS have applied for VRS.

Under the circumstances, not going to Bareilly as Divisional Commissioner by IAS Sarika Mohan of 2006 batch is being discussed in many circles.

Sarika Mohan has been the DM of Badaun district of Bareilly division and the neighboring district of Rampur.
