New Delhi: When pompous Donald Trump had levied tariffs across the globe, including India with 24%, the detractors kept asking a question: "How could PM Modi's best friend, Donald Trump, betray India?"
But one thing that everybody glanced over was Donald Trump's statement, '' Do even try to retaliate. If you do, then better be ready to face the consequences. If you don't, you will be rewarded."
While other countries waited patiently, China hit back with reciprocal tariffs vehemently. Xi Jinping embarked on a perilous mission of hurting Trump's ego. In return, Mr. Trump dismantled the Chinese economy by hitting Chinese goods with a crushing 125% tariff, and China retaliated with 84% tariffs on all U.S. imports, igniting an all-out economic clash.

According to Dynamite News, the world’s two biggest economies are now locked in a high-stakes showdown, sending markets into turmoil. While other countries got a 90-day break from Trump’s tariffs, China faced full-force pressure and fired back even harder.
This trade war has turned into an attritional battle with both sides suffering heavy losses, with China facing significant economic strain, further intensifying the trade conflict between the world’s two largest economies.
Beijing also imposed export restrictions on several US companies and filed a fresh complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO), warning that the US tariffs posed a serious threat to global trade stability.

Trump’s move is also seen as an attempt to narrow what had been an unprecedented trade war between the US and most of the world down to one between the US and China.
