West Bengal: Death toll mounts 8 in Pathar Pratima gas cylinder blast

Kolkata: One more person injured in the blast at a house in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district was killed on Tuesday morning, taking the toll to eight.
A police officer said, "Sutapa Jana had almost 75 per cent burn injuries and she died at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata this morning."

Among the dead are four children, including two six-month-old babies, Asmita Banik and Ankit Banik were killed in the gas cylinder blast that happened at the house in Dholahat in Pathar Pratima on Monday night, Police said.
The official added that the other deceased are Prabhabati Banik, Arabinda Banik, Swantana Banik, Arnab Banik, Anushka Banik, and Sutapa Jana. All of them died of burn injuries that were caused after the entire house was engulfed in fire following the explosion.
