New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red alert for severe high temperatures in Delhi-NCR for the next four days that will be multiplied by the passage of strong, dusty, gusty, hot and dry summer wind from the west.

The national capital is already reeling under maximum temperatures ranging from 45 to 47 degrees Celsius and above in some pockets since last week.

On Tuesday, intense heatwave with temperatures touching 46 degrees Celsius by 4 pm is forecast by the weather office.

The IMD forecasted severe heatwave conditions for six states for May 28, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. (with Agency inputs)
