WB: Two Maoists detained near Mamata's residence

The Kolkata Special Task Force detained two Maoists from near the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

Kolkata: Acting on a tip off, the Kolkata Special Task Force (STF) detained two Maoists from near the residence of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to STF sources, the two claim that they are part of the Purulia Maoist group and had come to surrender themselves before the Chief Minister.

In a similar incident, the Sashastra Seema Bal, in a joint operation with the local police, apprehended 16 suspected Maoists on Sunday from Kalyanpur village in Bihar's Jamui district.

16th Batallion of the SSB, Jamui, Bihar, were on area domination patrol along with the local police when they saw a group of people carrying red flags in their hands near a brick kiln in Kalyanpur area. (ANI)
