Mumbai: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday performed the traditional 'Shastra Pooja' at the RSS headquarters in Nagpur to mark the occasion of 'Vijayadashami'.

Ex-ISRO chief and Padma Bhushan recipient K. Radhakrishnan was the chief guest for the annual event.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and former ISRO chief K. Sivan were also present at the event.

In the past, the Vijaydashami event was attended by a host of notable personalities, including former President Pranab Mukherjee and Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi.

'Vijaydashami' 
Vijaydashami, also known as 'Dussehra', is celebrated across the country. The festical is celebrated on the tenth day of the month of Ashvin, according to the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar. 
On this occasion, RSS Chief also remembered Maharani Durgavati, Ahilyabai Holkar, and Dayanand Saraswati.
