Uttarakhand: Partial traffic resumed on Badrinath Highway near Joshimath

Chamoli: On Saturday, the traffic has partially resumed on the Badrinath National Highway near Joshimath after it was blocked due to a landslide earlier.

Currently, only small vehicles and pedestrians are permitted to proceed through the route.

Earlier on Thursday, the Badrinath National Highway was opened for pedestrians. 

SDRF Uttarakhand Police shared a video on X showing that many SDRF personnel were helping pilgrims and polling parties cross this landslide-affected zone on foot.

"District Chamoli: On July 11, 2024, Badrinath National Highway was opened for pedestrians and polling parties. The passengers are being helped safely to cross the road by the SDRF jawans," SDRF Uttarakhand Police wrote on X. (with Agency inputs)
