According to reports, the incident occurred when theyr were crossing the railway track at around 9 o’clock on Friday morning,
Seeing a train coming from Lucknow towards Gonda, the two women stopped on a track and waited for the train to pass.
Later, a goods train arrived on the same track, striking and killing the two women.

The deceased women were identified as Shahjahan (42), wife of Anees, a resident of Jhukiya, and Salma (40), wife of Nizamuddin, a resident of Jhukiya.
Police station in-charge Brijraj Prasad said that after reaching the spot, the body was taken into custody and sent for post-mortem. Police is investigating the incident.
