Uttar Pradesh: Two children drown in pit in Deoria

Deoria: Two children drowned in a pit in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria district, officials said on Thursday. 

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the incident occurred in village Narharpatti of Tarkulwan police station area. The deceased children have been identified as Anubhav and Priti Sharma.

Besides, two children are being treated and their condition is said to be critical.

Children went towards pit while playing 

According to the information, the pit was dug in the area by a person. On Wednesday evening around 4 o'clock, two-and- half-year old Preeti, four-year-old Anubhav, four-year-old Gudia and two-year-old Yuvraj went towards the pit while playing.

Villagers pulled them out

All the four children started drowning in the pond. Seeing this, a woman present there raised an alarm. Hearing the woman's scream, the villagers who reached there and pulled out all the four of the pond and rushed them to a nearby hospital. 

Later, they were referred to Maharishi Devraha Baba Medical College, where the doctors declared Anubhav and Priti Sharma dead while Gudiya and Yuvraj are receiving treatment.
