Uttar Pradesh: SP MP Dimple Yadav accuses BJP of using state machinery in by-polls

Mainpuri: Hours after the Election Commission announced the results of Uttar Prades bypolls, Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav accused the administration of supporting the ruling BJP in the by-elections.

Talking to reporter in Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav said: " We were expecting to win five seats. But the BJP was using adminisitration in this by-polls. I am happy that despite all hurdles our party workers fought really well."  
Samajwadi Party has won 2 seats while BJP got 7 of nine seats for which the bypoll was held on November 20.  
SP wins Karhal seat
Samajwadi Party candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav won the Karhal Assembly seat which falls in Mainpuri by a margin of 14725 votes, according to Election Commission of India's data.

Karhal is considered to be the stronghold of the SP but this time the party won this seat by a margin of 14,775 votes. Political commentators attributed this small margin victory to the fact that this time two candidates were Yadav which divided the votes between the two.
