Uttar Pradesh: Leaves Of All Police Personnel Cancelled In Wake Of Upcoming Bypolls and Civic Election In State

To maintain the law and order situation during elections, DGP Headquarters has issued an order to cancel leaves of all the police personnel. Read on for details:

Lucknow: Although no notification has been issued so far, the civic elections in the state are to be held by the first week of January next year.

To maintain the law and order situation during elections, DGP Headquarters has issued an order to cancel leaves of all the police personnel.

The voting for two Assembly and one Lok Sabha byelections in the state is fixed on 5 December. 

The winter session of UP Legislative Assembly is to be held from 5 December. During the session, the government will present the supplementary budget. The government may announce some new schemes also.

If the notification is issued by the State Election Commission before the session, the election code of conduct will come into force. Under the circumstances, it is believed that the Commission may announce the civic elections as soon as the session ends.
