Jaunpur: A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was shot dead by unidentified persons in Sikrara area of Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, police sources said.
Police sources said that district secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha Pramod Kumar (52), a resident of Bodhapur village, was shot by motorcycle borne miscreants around 10 am.

"Pramod, who sustained seven bullet injuries, was taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead," they said.
After getting the information, the BJP's district president, Pushparaj Singh, along with other office-bearers, reached the spot and condemned the incident. They demanded the police to immediately arrest the miscreants involved in the murder.
