Gorakhpur: Five people, including three members of a family, were killed while three others sustained series injuries in a collision between two motorcycles in Uttar Pardesh's Gorakhpur, police said on Saturday.

After receiving the information, police reached the accident spot and rushed the victims to a nearby hospital. 

  
Identity of the deceased 
The deceased have been identified as Vikrant, 35, a resident of Mohaddipur Bijli Colony, his two daughters Laado and Pari, both infants, Monu Chauhan and Suraj, 28.

Besides, three people also sustained injuries in the mishap. The injured perons were identified Vikrant's wife Nikita 30, her son Angad, 5, and Chinmayanand Mishra, who was riding on a different bike. 

 


The family was coming back after attending a family function in Jatepur, Uttari. When Vikrant took a turn towards Canal Road the motorcycle they were riding on collided with another one coming from Kundraghat on Friday night, according to Gorakhpur police. 

The condition of the injured are stated to be critical.

Gorakhpur District Magistrate Krishna Karunesh and Senior Superintendent of Police Gaurav Grover visit the accident spot and the hospital to inquire about the treatment of the injured.
