Muzaffarnagar: Two children were killed and four others injured when a house collapsed in Muzaffarbagar district in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Saturday.

The sources said that house of Aash Mohammad collapsed in Mimlana village due to incessant rain on Friday night.

"Aash's wife Salma (40), sons Shanu (21), Shoaib (14), Junaid (10), daughters Sana (11) and Kulsum (5) were buried under the debris," they said.

The police with the help of the local residents launched a rescue and relief operation, but by the time the victims could be pulled out Shoaib and Sana were dead.

"The injured have been admitted to the district hospital where their condition is stated to be stable," they said.

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Parmanand Jha and Tehsildar Abhishek Shahi visited the spot on Saturday morning and met the victims at the hospital. (UNI)
