Washington: A Southwest Airlines plane and a private jet narrowly avoided a collision at the Chicago Midway International Airport. 

Southwest Flight 2504 landed safely at the airport after the flight crew had to perform a go-around to prevent a potential incident on Tuesday evening, CNN reported, citing Southwest.

 

Video of the Incident
The video of the incident has gone viral on internet. 

 

The Southwest plane was coming from Omaha, Nebraska while the Bombardier Challenger 350 was headed to Knoxville, Tennessee, according to FlightRadar24. 

In the video, the flight 2504 plane can be seen attempting to land while the private aircraft moving across the same runway.

The incident took place around 8:50 am local time.

Probe Launched
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board have bgan the investigation of the incident. 

The incident comes on the hells of major air plane accidents in the country.

An American Airlines plane and an Army helicopter collided in the air over Washington, DC's Ronald Reagan National Airport in which 67 people were killed.
