Washington: Oscar-winning US actor Gene Hackman, along with his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog, have been found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, officials said.
"We can confirm that both Gene Hackman and his wife were found deceased Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Sunset Trail," BBC quoted Santa Fe County Sheriff as saying.

"This is an active investigation - however, at this time we do not believe that foul play was a factor," Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza added.
The actor Hackman was 95 while his wife was 64.

One of the industry's most honoured performers, Hackman, 95, was a five-time Oscar nominee who starred in dozens of films. He won two Oscar wins, for 'The French Connection' and 'Unforgiven'.
