UP: Violence in Farrukhabad district jail; 2 injured

A major violence broke out inside the district jail here on Sunday morning in which a policeman and an inmate was injured.

Farrukhabad: A major violence broke out inside the district jail here on Sunday morning in which a policeman and an inmate was injured.

Jail officials here said that the jail inmates were protesting over the death of an undertrial Sandeep due to dengue at the Saifai hospitsl on Saturday night.

The prisoners were also annoyed with the jail authorities for not allowing them to cone out of their cells to meet each other on Diwali and inferior food during the festival.

The irate prisoners pelted stones on the security personal . In the violence a jail constable Jitendra while a prisoner received bullet injury.

The prisoners also assaulted deputy jailer Shailesh Kumar Sonkar.

Additional police forces have rushed to the spot to control the situation.(UNI)
