UP: SP President Akhilesh Yadav calls on Governor at Raj Bhavan; raises issue of false cases against party leader Azam Khan

Lucknow: National President of Samajwadi Party and Leader of Opposition in the UP Assembly, Akhilesh Yadav along with 12 Party MLAs called on Governor Anandiben Patel at Raj Bhavan on Friday here. During the meeting with the  Governor, Akhilesh Yadav raised the issue of false cases against senior SP leader Azam Khan and expressed his deep concern over the matter.

Earlier on Thursday, former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav took up the matter of fabricated cases against the senior SP leader Azam Khan in the Assembly. As soon as the proceedings of the House started on the last day of the Monsoon session, Akhilesh Yadav drew the attention of the Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana on the issue.

Akhilesh Yadav said he was afraid that to implicate Azam Khan any bomb or AK-47 rifle might be implanted at Khan's university and then be shown as 'recovered' from there. He again appealed to the Speaker that no false case should be filed against Azam Khan again.
