UP: PM Modi arrives in Lucknow ahead of International Yoga Day celebrations

PM Narendra Modi arrives in Lucknow to inaugurate building of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University and to attend an event on International Yoga Day.

Lucknow:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Lucknow on Tuesday ahead of the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21. PM Modi received a warm welcome from Governor Ram Naik and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath and others at the Lucknow airport.

Police detained 22 persons in Lucknow on the arrival of PM Modi.

“We have detained 22 persons apprehending that they might breach security during today’s VVIP visit,” Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Kumar said.

PM Modi will reach AKTU by road to inaugurate the building of APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University besides a 400 KV Lucknow-Kanpur DC transmission line and handover the allotment letter to 20 beneficiaries of PM Awas Yojana.

Thereafter, Modi would reach the CM residence at 5 Kalidas Marg to attend dinner with select dignitaries before leaving for Raj Bhawan for the night stay.

PM Modi will reach the Ramabai Sthal for yoga day event at 6:30 am on Wednesday. After the event, he will leave for Delhi at 8 am. 

On Monday, UP CM Adityanath Yogi and Governor Ram Naik personally reviewed the preparations at Ramabai Rally Sthal, the venue for International Yoga Day. Special security arrangements have been made in the wake of the PM's visit. (With agency inputs)
