UP MLC Elections: Clean sweep by BJP, wins 33 of 36 seats

Lucknow: In the UP legislative council elections for 36 seats, the Bharatiya Janta Party, on Tuesday, won 33 seats. Out of these 33, the ruling party has already unanimously won nine seats. 

The three seats have gone to others including two independents.

The  Opposition, Samajwadi Party, failed to register its victory even on a single seat.

The Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party have not fielded any candidate in the council polls.
