Noida: A Lawrence Bishnoi gang member, who was carrying a Rs one lakh bounty, was gunned down in police encounter in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut on Wednesday morning, officials said.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, Uttar Pradesh Police's Special Task Force (STF) and Meerut Police launched a joint operation in Mundali Police Station area.
Identification of The Deceased
The miscreant has been identified as Jeetu alias Jitendra, a resident of Aasaunda Siwan police station Aasaunda district Jhajjar, Haryana.

A reward of Rs one lakh was announced on the accused as he was wanted in a 2023 murder case in Ghaziabad.
Jeetu dies of gunshort wounds
According to the information, an encounter took place in Meerut's Mundali police station area at around 2 o'clock in the night, in which he sustained bullet injuries. He was immediately taken to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
The officer said he had been sentenced to life imprisonment for a 2016 double murder in Jhajjar.

He was released on parole in 2023 and had been absconding since then.
