UP govt. orders three-tier probe into Jhansi hospital fire

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday ordered a three-tier probe into the Jhansi hospital fire incident in which 10 newborns were killed and many others injured.

Calling the deaths of infants unfortunate, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak said," The first probe will be carried out at the administrative level by the health department, the second probe will also be conducted by the Police administration. The Fire department will also be a part of it, third, instructions have been given for the magisterial probe as well. The cause of the fire will be probed."

10 infants died 

At least 10 infants were charred to death and many others injured after a massive fire broke out at the Maharani Laxmi Bai Medical College's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) late Friday evening, officials said. (With Agency Inputs)
