Shahjahanpur: A father mercilessly killed his four children including three girls, with a chopper while they were sleeping in Manpur Chakri Gotiya village of Roza police station area in Shahjahanpur. After the murder of children, he committed suicide by hanging himself.
At the time of the incident, the wife was not at home and had gone to her maternal place.
The bodies of 3 girls and a son were lying on the bed. The necks of all were cut. Blood was scattered all over the room. The chopper was kept nearby. The father's body was hanging on a noose in the same room.

While talking to media, the SP City Devendra Singh said that the father's name is Rajiv Kumar who killed three daughters Smriti (12), Kirti (9) and Pragati (7) and son Rishabh (11) while they were sleeping.
'Then he committed suicide himself. The reason for the murder is not clear yet. The bodies have been sent for postmortem. The forensic team has examined the room,' Singh added.

At the time of the incident, only the father and 4 children were in the house. Rajeev's father Prithviraj told the police that he used to sleep in the field a little distance away from the house. When he reached home at around 6 am on Thursday, the gate was locked from inside. He called for a long time, but the gate did not open.
After this, he called the neighbors. When he jumped over the wall and went inside, blood was scattered all over the room. The blood-soaked bodies of all the four children were lying on the bed. While Rajeev was hanging from a noose. He told that the daughter-in-law had gone to her parents' house a day before.
Prithviraj said that when he went to give tea in the morning, Rajeev's body was hanging from a noose while the children's bodies were lying on the bed.

The accused had an accident a long time ago and there was an injury on the head. After this, his mental balance deteriorated. He used to have seizures from time to time. He used to lose his temper. But, it was not expected that he would commit such a horrific incident.

Poor Financial Condition
Rajiv was unemployed for a year, and used to quarrel with wife Neighbours told that Rajiv was married to Kranti 14 years ago. Earlier he used to work as a labourer.
After the accident, due to his deteriorating mental condition, he was unemployed for the last one year. He used to stay at home. Due to the financial constraints, he used to have quarrels with his wife almost every day. On Wednesday also, his wife had gone to her maternal home after a quarrel.
Rajiv was the eldest of five brothers Prithviraj told that Rajiv was the eldest of five sons. Second and third brothers Sanjeev and Rajan live in a house nearby. The fourth brother Kuldeep works in the city. While the youngest son Ankit died of brain tumor one and a half years ago. Rajiv's mother also died two years ago.
According to Police it is a case of suicide after murder. The forensic team is further investigating.
