UP: Angry Mob Pelt Stones At Police Over Vehicle Checking In Badaun, Case Registered Against 300, 6 Arrested So Far

An angry mob attacked the police team after police manhandled and allegedly beat a person during the checking of his vehicle. read on for details:

Badaun: An angry mob attacked the police team after police manhandled and allegedly beat a person during the checking of his vehicle. The agitated people pelted stones at police and ransacked the CO's car. The police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.

According to reports some people got injured during the ruckus. Police has registered a case under different sections against 28 persons and 300 unkwon people. Police has arrested 6 people so far. 

The police team was checking vehicles on Friday late evening in Kakrala under Alapur police station area.

Station House Officer Sanjeev Shukla of Alapur Police station was supervising his team.  

During the checking the police signalled a motorcycle of a person living in Kakrala town and asked him  for the papers. This enraged him and he called other people of the town and blocked the road in protest against the checking. After that there was a ruckus all around.

Some locals accused the police team of allegedly beating up the youth, following which angry mob created ruckus and pelted stones at the police team. The police in turn had to lathi charge to disperse the unruly crowd.

Senior Superintendent of Police OP Singh said on Saturday that police and PAC are patrolling the town to maintain law and order. He said culprits will not be spared. CCTV footage is being scanned to identify the accused who attacked the police team. 

The six people who have been arrested and booked under different sections include Yunus, Raees, Rehaan, Guddu and Shanu.
