Addressing the media after meeting Raut's family on Monday, Thackeray said, "Even Congress ruled for 60 to 65 years, but look at them now. Nothing is permanent. I was not carried away by the CM post which I held for the last 2.5 years. I am in touch with regional party leaders like Mamata Banerjee and KSR. The BJP is planning to wipe out the regional forces."

"I am proud of Sanjay Raut. It is a conspiracy to destroy us. We have to wipe out whoever speaks against us. A vendetta politics with such a mindset is going on," Thackeray said.

Raut was arrested after over six hours of questioning at the ED's zonal office in south Mumbai's Ballard Estate shortly after Sunday midnight. The ED seized cash worth Rs 11.50 lakh from Sanjay Raut’s residence during the nine-hour-long raid conducted in connection with the Patra chawl land scam case. (with agency inputs)
