Tea estate worker killed by elephant

A middle-aged worker of an estate was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Pandalur, about 80 km from here, in the early hours of Tuesday.

Udhagamandalam: A middle-aged worker of an estate was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Pandalur, about 80 km from here, in the early hours of Tuesday, police said.

The worker of the tea estate Karuppaiah had gone out to answer nature's call when the elephant chased and killed him, they said.

On information, forest and police officials went to the spot and shifted the body for a postmortem at the government hospital in Gudalur.(PTI)
