Chennai: Five people were killed and seven others seriously wounded in a collision between a tractor and an omni bus at Kaverippatinam in Dharmapuri district today. The deceased included a 3-month-old infant and a woman.
A total of 12 people from Savulur village were travelling in the tractor for a farm work at Devakota village in Andhra Pradesh when the private bus, proceeding to Bengaluru from Sivakasi, collided with the tractor.

Five people, including the child, were killed on the spot and seven others were grievously injured. Police said, besides the infant, the other deceased were identified as Muthu, Malli, Munusamy and Vasanthi.
The injured were taken to Krishnagiri Government Medical College Hospital. (UNI)
