Chennai: Indian Coast Guard's ship 'Ayush' rescued a distressed fishing boat along with nine crew members from 240 miles North-East of Chennai.

As per the official statement, the boat suffered engine breakdown and was adrift since September 2 without any communication.

However, the boat was safely to Vishakapatnam.

Taking to social media site ‘X’, Public Relations Officer of Tamil Nadu in Defence said, “@IndiaCoastGuard ship Ayush rescued a distressed Chennai based fishing boat with nine crew, 240 miles North-East of Chennai.

After the boat suffered engine breakdown, it was adrift since 02 Sep without any communication. Boat was safely towed to Vishakapatnam. (with ANI inputs)
