New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday criticised the practice of announcing freebies in the elections, saying the people are not willing to work after receiving free ration and money.
The Apex Court made the comment while a hearing a matter concerning the right to shelter of homeless persons in urban areas.

The bench of justices BR Gavai and Augustine George Masih said: "Will it not be better to make people a part of mainstream of the society and permit them to contribute to the nation's development?"
