Bhubaneswar: A bulk quantity of one kg contraband Brown Sugar and 1992 Kg ganja which were seized from the exclusive possession of accused persons, were destroyed by the STF on Monday at a designated incinerator. The seized drugs were first authenticated/ certificated by the concerned court and handed over to the Drug disposal committee for disposal.
STF sources said on the decision of the High-Level Drug Disposal Committee led by DIG of Police, STF, Bhubaneswar J N Pankaj, in presence of Scientific Officers of State Forensic Science laboratory and Member of State Pollution Board destructed bulk quantity of contraband Brown Sugar and Ganja.

The contraband drugs were destroyed at a designated incinerator at Sani Clean Pvt. Ltd. Tangiapada in Khordha district following all due procedures.
To date, STF has destroyed 22 kg 569 gm brown sugar in 17 cases and 38 Quintals 9 kg Ganja in six cases including Monday’s destruction. Similarly, Odisha Police has also destroyed more than 535 Qunitals of Ganja in 227 cases and more than 27 kg Brown Sugar in 35 cases. (UNI)
