Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Akhilesh Yadav, Samajwadi Party chief and MP from Kannauj, held a press conference at the party headquarters in Lucknow. He strongly criticized the BJP government on multiple issues, including the Waqf bill and the Maha Kumbh stampede. Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of using religion for politics and misleading people about the Waqf bill to gain votes.
The SP leader claimed the UP government is hiding the true death toll from the Maha Kumbh stampede to avoid paying compensation. He alleged the BJP has turned to religious politics after losing public support. Yadav showed a video during the conference, suggesting internal conflicts within BJP ranks.

He highlighted a recent corruption case involving an IAS officer's aide, calling it evidence of BJP's mismanagement. He accused the BJP of spending crores on social media campaigns against opposition parties like SP and Congress.
During the event, Akhilesh honored Ambedkar Nagar student Ananya Yadav with a school bag. He announced week-long "Swabhimaan Swamaan" programs from April 8-14 to celebrate Ambedkar Jayanti across all districts. These events will focus on awareness campaigns for PDA (Pichda-Dalit-Alpsankhyak) communities.
