Mainpuri: Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav on Saturday exuded confidence that the SP would sweep the upcoming Uttar Pradesh by-elections and also slammed the BJP, saying 'they talk about one nation one election, but they have not been able to conduct election to one assembly seat'. 


Talking to reporters in Mainpuri, Dimple Yadav said, "Not just on Karhal seat, the party would emerge victorious on all nine assembly seats in the state by-polls."

She also took swipe on the BJP, saying: "BJP talks about one nation one elections, but they have not been able to conduct the election to one assembly seat."

On being asked about BJP's candidate from Karhal seat, she said, "The fight is between the NDA and the PDA. This is a fight of ideology and principles. This is a fight to save the Constitution. Today, our youths are unemployed, farmers are in distress and injustice is being done to everyone. We are fighting for these people."

"The BJP's politics of misleading and dividing the country has been exposed," she further added. 

She was in Mainpuri to campaign for Samajwadi Party's candidate Tej Pratap Singh Yadav.

 

By-polls to be held on Nov 13

By-elections for nine assembly seats, including Karhal, in Uttar Pradesh will be held on November 13. The outcome of the polls will be announced on November 23. The Election Commission has announced elections to nine of 10 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh. 


Karhal seat was represented by Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav, who vacated it after being elected to the Lok Sabha in general elections held earlier this year.
