New Delhi: The controversial Waqf Board Bill has ignited fierce protests, from Parliament to the streets. Speaking to Dynamite News, Samajwadi Party leader Professor Ram Gopal Yadav has unequivocally slammed the legislation, calling it a blatant violation of the Constitution.
Yadav claimed the opposition moved the Supreme Court immediately because the bill attacks the "soul of the Constitution", the Fundamental Rights. "Article 14 of the constituion guarantees these rights. Article 26 clearly protects religious freedoms. If any law strips these away, it is illegal," he said.

In Muzaffarnagar, protesters wore black bands against the bill. Yadav mocked the crackdown and said, "Now, just stepping out invites an FIR. Attend a wedding? FIR. Gather in numbers? FIR. This isn’t governance, it’s dictatorship."
Yadav didn’t hold back in Parliament either. "Step by step, this government is crushing dissent," he said. "A totalitarian state hates opposition. But the Samajwadi Party will never bow down."
