SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav: Vote-bank politics of BJP has pushed Manipur to such horrendeus situation

New Delhi: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday said that the Central Government must be aware of the horrific situation in Manipur and therefore should no longer remain in power.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the dreadful and horrible situation in Manipur has happened due to the vote-bank politics of the Bhartiya Janata Party in the region.

"BJP and PM are one. Whatever is happening there is due to the hatred spread by RSS and the vote bank politics of BJP. Government must be aware of everything. It is not possible that Central agencies didn't know about the situation. They must be aware of whatever is happening there. If Government saw all this happening, they should not remain in power," said Akhilesh Yadav.

Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav arrived in Delhi to participate in the monsoon session of Parliament. There they met Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh and supported his dharna. 

Talking to the media, Akhilesh Yadav once again attacked PM Modi and his government at the Centre.

The SP Chief said that he supports all those MPs and parties, including Sanjay Singh, who want a discussion in Parliament and PM Modi's statement on the heinous incident in Manipur...He said that the ruling party BJP is determined to kill democracy, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Akhilesh Yadav said that the BJP people talk big things. They boast of taking the economy here and there, but why does Prime Minister Modi not speak on the heinous incident in Manipur? He said that wherever our economy reaches, our mothers, daughters and women should continue to get respect.

Earlier today, opposition MPs of the 'INDIA' arrived at the Parliament wearing black clothes as a mark of protest over the situation in Manipur.

On Wednesday, Akhilesh Yadav claimed in Meerut that 'India', a coalition of opposition parties, "will eliminate the Bharatiya Janata Party not only from Uttar Pradesh, but from the entire country."

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, Akhilesh said, “India means that we want to walk together. We want to bring everyone on the path of prosperity. This is the message of our composite culture, our brotherhood. The meaning of INDIA is that we will take everyone along. Then what is the BJP worried about?

The former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said, "The BJP government came to power at the Centre in 2014, now we will send it out in 2024." 

While in Meerut, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav also met the victims and family members of the Delhi-Meerut highway accident and the Kanwar Yatra tragedy and assured them of all kinds of help.

He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of the deceased and Rs 25,000 to the injured.

On July 15, six kanwariyas had died due to electrocution in Rali Chauhan village.

According to Dynamite News correspondent, the former Chief Minister also went to Dhanpur village to console the family members of the victims who had died in an accident on the highway in Ghaziabad. Akhilesh Yadav assured that he would himself bear the expenses of the education and marriage of the children besides maximum financial help.

Six members of Narendra's family, a resident of Dhanpur village, were killed in a road accident in Ghaziabad on July 11.
