Lucknow: Samajwadi Party Supremo and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday lambasted at Yogi Govt and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of "lying to the poor," and infact doing "zero work" for alleviating poverty, reports Dynamite News correspondent.

Akhilesh Yadav, in a post on X, claimed, "Before becoming zero, zero is visible everywhere. Just like their 'zero tolerance' became zero, similarly, the Jumlai-BJP claim of 'Zero Poverty' will also become zero. The great tradition of our country gave 'zero' for mathematics, not for spreading lies among the public."

"Before making new promises, they should transfer Rs 15 lakh into people's bank accounts, visit the adopted villages to witness their plight and wipe the dust that has settled on the unfulfilled promises of homes for all and water in every home," Akhilesh Yadav said.

"They may continue their old tradition of deceit by renaming schemes like Ambedkar Village and Lohia Village, and presenting them in new formats but they have nothing original to offer," SP Chief added.

SP Chief said that BJP Govt slogan of Zero Poverty will also become a 'jumla' like other 'jumlas' of the Safforn Party.

The Former UP Chief Minister said that the BJP Governments in Uttar Pradesh as well as at the Centre are not fulfilling their promises. Rather they are repackaging old schemes including rural development ones with new names to mislead everyone.

Akhilesh Yadav said that, "Poverty is eradicated through actions, not words. And when it comes to action, the BJP government stands at zero."

"At least stop lying to the poor," he said accusing the BJP Govt attitude "deplorable".

He claimed that the current BJP Govt will leave everything in a state of "shunya" (zero) before it goes away.
