SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav Pays Tribute To Dr Ambedkar: 'The Constitution by Baba Saheb is our shield'

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party Supremo Akhilesh Yadav paid floral tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on his 135th birth anniversary today on Monday, reports Dynamite News correspondent. 

Akhilesh Yadav reiterated that the Constitition is a "lifeline" for those who follow Dr BR Ambedkar. He was talking to media after offering tributes to Dr Ambedkar.

He highlighted the importance of the Constitution and said that the Constitution given to us by Dr BR Ambedkar is our shield. He said, "The Constitution that guides us forward with dignity is like a lifeline for those who follow Baba Saheb Ambedkar. The Constitution given to us by Dr BR Ambedkar is our shield -- it protects our rights and safeguards reservations."

Akhilesh Yadav further said that, "Today, we remember Ambedkar not just because he gave us the world's finest Constitution but also because his life story inspires us. When we read and hear about his journey, we realize how he faced immense discrimination from a very young age." 

"It is crucial today that the country continues to be governed by the Constitution. That's why we all pledge to strengthen it further. If the Constitution is weakened, democracy will also be weakened," Akhilesh Yadav added.
