SAU Director shares Important Information
Addressing the event as the chief guest, SAU Director Professor KK Aggarwal provided information about the university’s ongoing expansion, academic programs, and enhanced facilities.
Professor Aggarwal stated that SAU offers a wide range of international-level courses for students. This year, the university has launched several new programs, including undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, executive PhD programs, and specialized courses like Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The executive PhD program is designed for professionals with significant field experience who cannot pursue a PhD due to their professional commitments.

MS in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence program
The university has launched a two-year “MS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence” program, which is open not only to students but also to teachers. The goal is to prepare faculty for teaching data science and AI at an advanced level.
Professor Aggarwal highlighted that until 2023, SAU only offered master’s and PhD programs. However, with the introduction of the BTech program in Computer Science and Engineering in the 2024-25 academic year, the university made a significant leap forward. Now, for the 2025-26 session, several new programs have been introduced, further broadening its academic landscape and strengthening its position as a leading higher education institution.
This year, the university has increased on-campus program capacity by approximately 1,300 seats across various disciplines.
When asked about the challenges of fostering harmony among students from the eight SAARC countries with their diverse languages, cultures, religions, cuisines, and traditions, Professor Aggarwal said this diversity is not a challenge but an opportunity for the university.
