New Delhi: Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi on Saturday called a meeting of party leaders at her residence to discuss party’s poor performance in the recently held elections in five states. 

The party’s strategy for the upcoming state elections was also discussed extensively.

Besides Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, senior leaders Ambika Soni, Digvijay Singh, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ajay Maken, Jairam Ramesh, Mukul Wasnik, Digvijay Singh, AK Antony were also present. 

The presence of political strategist Prashant Kishor in the meeting bears special significance. With his presence in the meeting, there is a speculation that if all goes well, Prashant Kishor may join the Congress party soon.
