Six who abducted by Kuki militants found dead in Manipur

Imphal: Six women and children, who were abducted by the Kuki militants from a relief camp in Jiribam district last Monday in violenc-hit Manipur, were found murdered near Manipur-Assam border on Saturday. 

Identify the body
Baby Telem Thajamanbi Devi ( 8 year), Laishram Chingkheinganba Singh (2 and half year), Laishram Langamba Singh (8 months), Laishram Heitombi Devi, Telem Thoibi Devi and Yurembam Rani Devi were abducted from a relief camp and taken to Assam by the militants. While three bodies were found on Friday night three were recovered on Saturday.

The brutal murder sent shockwaves across the state. Roads were blocked and people shouted slogans against the government for failure to protect lives of women and children.

People marched towards the residences of Ministers and MLAs to demand immediate action against the militants. Earlier Kuki militants went on a rampage and destroyed houses, attacked farmers and burnt two men. Two women also died.
