Uttar Pradesh: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) grilled Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq for 2.5 hours on Tuesday in connection with the 24 November violence case. Barq cooperated with the probe, stating he would "continue to assist investigators."

According to the Dynamite News correspondent, an FIR was earlier filed against Barq in the violence case. The Allahabad High Court had stayed his arrest in the matter. The SIT had served him a notice on 26 March, summoning him to Nakhasa police station by 8 April.

Barq arrived at Nakhasa police station around 11:30 AM on Tuesday. Interrogation began by noon and concluded at 2:30 PM. The MP later said he "respected the legal process" and answered all questions.
