Shiv Sainiks closedown over 500 meat and chicken shops, including KFCs in Gurgaon
After the crackdown on illegal slaughter houses in Uttar Pradesh, Gurugram is the latest to follow the trend which is causing trouble for meat sellers.
Gurugram: Over 200 Shiv Sainiks in Haryana forced to close down over 500 meat and chicken shops, including international brand KFC outlets, in old Gurugram area for nine days - till Navratras get over.
The Shiv Sainiks have also served notices to non-veg shop owners and threatened them to shut their outlets every Tuesday in future.
The members of Shiv Sena assembled at Palam Vihar and forced the closure of meat markets and Muslim dhabas, after which they forced shops in Surat Nagar, Ashok Vihar, Sector 5, 9, Pataudi Chowk, Jacobpura, Sadar Bazaar, Khandsa Anaj Mandi, bus stand and then to Sector 14 market to close as well.

The crackdown on illegal slaughter houses in Uttar Pradesh is possibly inspiring other Hindutva organisations and political parties in states run by the BJP government.
According to ACP-PRO of Gurgaon Police Manish Sehgal, these shops have commercial license to sell meat and strict action will be taken against those forcing closure of shops illegally.
