Seven notorious criminals have been arrested with illegal weapons from different locations in the city.

Jaipur: Seven notorious criminals have been arrested with illegal weapons from different locations in the city, a police officer said today.

Based on a tip-off, a police team arrested Chhitarmal Kaatwa (30) late yesterday night from Phulera police station limits along with an illegal pistol and two live cartridges, DCP (West) Ashok Kumar Gupta said.

The accused confessed to his role in arms smuggling and supply, he added.

Based on the information provided by Kaatwa, police teams arrested Mukesh Jat (28), Mohan Singh (30), Pawan (36), Manohar Mehra (35), Jitendra Kumar Kumawat (42) and Harlal Jat (30) from different locations within the Kardhani police station limits, Gupta said.

Four illegal pistols, two country-made weapons and three live cartridges were recovered from the accused persons, he said.

The accused have been booked under the Arms Act. All of them have a criminal record and have cases of murder, loot and vehicle theft registered against them, the DCP said. (PTI)
