Belgrade: Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic on Tuesday resigned following nationwide protests over the deadly collapse of a railway station canopy.
Canopy collapse in Novi Sad
The mishap occurred in November last year, in which 15 peopel were killed in the northern city of Novi Sad.
Nationwide protest erupted
The incident triggred a huge and sustained wave of protests across the country.

Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets since then, demanding accountability for the collapse and protesting corruption and alleged lack of oversight on construction projects, BBC reported.
The outgoing PM has been accused of curbing democratic freedoms in Serbia.
24-hour blockade of road
Tensions rose on Monday when, during a 24-hour blockade of the busiest road junction in the Serbian capital Belgrade, a female student was injured in clashes between the opposition and supporters of the governing party, the broadcaster reported.
