New Delhi: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) IPS Nalin Prabhat on Thursday appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Jammu & Kashmir.

He is an IPS Officer of the 1992 batch of Andhra Pradesh cadre and he served as the Director General of the National Security Guard from 1 May 2024 till 15 August 2024.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order on Wednesday evening, cutting short Nalin Prabhat's tenure as the NSG DG. He has also been assigned to AGMUT cadre for a period of three years.
