Senior IAS Rakesh Singh's father and UP cadre IPS BP Singh passes away in Bengaluru

Bharat Prasad Singh, one of the most dynamic IPS officers of the Uttar Pradesh passed away in Bengaluru at the age of 83. His passing away has shocked one and all including the family members and other loved ones. Must read full story on Dynamite News.

Bengaluru/Lucknow: Bharat Prasad Singh (BP Singh), the flamboyant UP cadre IPS officer of the 1964 batch, passed away on Monday afternoon in Bengaluru at the age of 83. His last rites are being performed in Bengaluru today itself.

Originally a resident of Munger district of Bihar, BP Singh is remembered for his courageous and brilliant policing.

He was SSP of big districts like Varanasi, Agra and Aligarh of Uttar Pradesh.

He was also DIG of Gorakhpur for about 7 years where he is still remembered for his exemplary work.

Later, he was posted as IG of Allahabad Zone, DG PAC and DG Railways.

As per Dynamite News correspondent, BP Singh earned much credit and accolades for eliminating all the dacoits in the Chambal area of Uttar Pradesh.

He is survived by his two sons Mukesh Singh and Rakesh Singh and a daughter.

Rakesh Singh is a 1989 batch senior IAS of Karnataka cadre.
