SC refuses relief to Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari against arrest warrant by Allahabad HC

New Delhi: Noida CEO Ritu Maheshwari received a setback from the Supreme Court on Monday. The apex court refused to grant any relief to Ritu Maheshwari in case of arrest warrant issued by the Allahabad High Court.
Ritu had approached the Supreme Court against the decision of the High Court. Under the circumstances, the sword of arrest is now hanging on her.

The Allahabad HC has issued a non-bailable warrant against Maheshwari in a contempt case. The court has entrusted the responsibility of compliance with the order to the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Noida. The police should arrest Ritu Maheshwari within 48 hours and produce her in the High Court on May 13, the order said.
Earlier, the Allahabad High Court had ordered Ritu Maheshwari to appear in the court when the matter in a contempt of court case linked to land acquisition was heard on last Thursday but she didn’t appear leading to NBW against her.
