SC collegium recommends transfer of Justice Varma to Allahabad High Court

New Delhi: The Supreme Court Collegium recommended the transfer of Delhi High Court Judge Yashwant Varma to the Allahabad High Court.
The decision comes in viwe of allegations of cash stash discovery from Judge Yashwant Varma's official premises.

Justice Varma originally belonged to the Allahabad High Court and was tranferred to the Delhi High Court in 2021. He will be ranked ninth in seniority at the Allahabad High Court.
Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna on Saturady constituted a three-member committee to investigate allegations against Delhi High Court Judge Yashwant Varma. This decision was taken after a report was given by Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay.
